You see, apparently at 03:14:08 GMT on Tuesday, January 19, 2038 the Unix clock will wrap around and restart at 20:45:52 GMT on Friday, December 13, 1901. It's sort of like the Unix user's version of Y2K, but they'll probably call it "Why Tuesday?" or something like that. Anyway, I've been told that, to those familiar with Unix, this joke is a real knee-slapper, more fun than a mime with Tourette's Syndrome. OK, I wasn't actually told that. It was more of a suggestion that it might be hilarious, kind of a hint that they'd find it amusing. Whatever. The fellow that told me the joke thought it was funny and that's good enough for me. Really, why would he lie?
